Fringe benefits can be valuable because some of them offer things you’d otherwise have to pay for yourself, like health insurance, retirement contributions, paid leave, or certain tax advantages.
That said, I’d always look at the total compensation. A higher salary can be better if the benefits are minimal, while strong benefits can make a lower salary more attractive. It really comes down to the actual numbers and what you personally need.
